Chris Rock On Mel Gibson “BPONR”
Mel Gibson is a good reason why I don’t like ethnic jokes. You know the how many Pollocks does it take jokes. All these jokes can turn the tables by substituting the ethnicity.
It appears that Mel Gibson did some substituting in a telephone rant with his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The 40-year-old Ukranian opera singer is also the mother of his 8 month old daughter, Lucia.
Grigorieva is the former girlfriend of James Bond star Timothy Dalton. They have one child together, a son named Alexander.
The rant directed at the singer who is also signed to Mel Gibson’s record label, Icon Records can be heard above.
It sounds like the academy award winning director who also produced and directed Passion Of The Christ has some control issues which may not be due to his alcoholism. This is not Mel’s first rant. On July 28, 2006, Gibson was arrested for driving under the influence, he made anti-Semitic remarks to arresting officer James Mee, who is Jewish, saying, “Fucking Jews… Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?” Citing alcohol abuse, Gibson issued two apologies for the incident through his publicist, and in a later interview with Diane Sawyer, he affirmed the accuracy of the quotations. During that interview which can be seen below, Sawyer asked Gibson what would he have said had the arresting officer had been black. Take a listen at Gibson’s response.
Gibson is known as an actor in many films including the Lethal Weapon series where he co-starred with African American actor/activist Danny Glover. Chris Rock appeared in the last of the Lethal Weapon series and had the following to say about Mel during his visit on Actor’s Studio.
Rock’s comment was before the recent “pack of niggers” rant (“BPONR”). Chris who often uses the word nigger in his stand up comedy may still share the same feelings, but I can’t help but wonder what he as well as Danny Glover now think of Mel.
We know what the William Morris Endeavor agency thinks of Gibson who is also being investigated for domestic violence.
