Mo’Nique Receives Golden Globe Award and Standing Ovation
Mo’Nique did what Mo’Nique does in delivering her acceptance speech for best supporting actress in last night’s Golden Globe win for her oh so realistic portrayal Gabourey Sidibe’s mean mother in Precious. Mo’Nique gave it that personal touch which no doubt moved both the tv viewing audience and the Golden Globe attendees who gave her a standing ovation as she moved towards the podium to accept her Golden globe.
Drew Barrymore, who won a Globe for best actress in a TV movie or miniseries for Grey Gardens, said in her acceptance speech that Mo’Nique’s statements were both inspirational and a tough act to follow.
Mo’Nique dedicated her award to sexual abuse victims, and was one of many who publicly expressed their gratitude to the almighty as well as love for their respective companions, husbands, wives, and other significant others.
Mo’Nique has come along way in her career, including an incident that got her removed from a United Airlines flight on route to New York. Mo’Nique was scheduled to do her stint as the quest co-host on the View after Star Jones made her memorable departure which created a rift between she and Barbara Walters.
Mo’Nique who received some bad press from the airline situation as well as showing her un-shaved legs to the View audience did not not get the gig. However, she has moved on to bigger and better things which includes hosting her own BET talk show.
Febone1960.net congratulates the abundantly talented Mo’Nique on her win and look forward to her Oscar acceptance speech.
Wrap your arms around you Mo’Nique and give a hug to yourself. You deserve it lady!
