Gov. Sarah Palin announced today that she will resign from office July 26.
Palin’s spokesman wouldn’t say why the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee has decided to step down, but the announcement raises speculation that she would focus on a bid for the 2012 Republican nomination for President of the United States.
There is also speculation that since she decided to resign on the July 4th Holiday weekend, that something stinks in Denmark.
Of course Febone1960.net will stay on top of this story.
Spokesman Dave Murrow says Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated at the governor’s picnic in Fairbanks at the end of the month.
First elected in 2006 on a populist platform, Palin’s popularity waned as she waged in partisan politics following her return from the 2008 presidential campaign.
